Weavingsongs: Home

My improvisational music is informed by traditional sounds and rhythms from around the world. My weaving employs two unique traditions; continuous strand weaving, an on-bias method thought to come from the middle ages, and Saori weaving, a free form style of weaving originated in Japan. The connection between these art forms is in the use of color, texture, and patterns that can be created within the frames of harp and loom. I love the beauty brought forward into modern times from these early art forms.
